INVENT YOUR OWN LIFE

by Stéphane Manchematin & Serge Steyer
Expected 2027 – 90 & 52 minutes – France

Hélène and Pierre Marie live in a valley in the Hautes Vosges. It was there that they met as children and fell in love. It was there that they chose to live a simple life, off the beaten track, following in the footsteps of Jacques and Colette, Hélène's parents. It was there that, over the past twenty years, they have forged bonds. They founded a theater company, an open-air creative space, and brought together a small collective of like-minded individuals to imagine creative, collective, and sensory experiences together, in close connection with the landscape and the natural elements. During this same period, they had two children, Eve and Éloi.
The three generations—children, parents, grandparents—support each other in an ecosystem where family life, personal projects, and professional life come together. As a new creation around transmission is in the works, Colette, the grandmother, Hélène, the mother, and Ève, the daughter, will soon be reunited on stage.
Day after day, through the seasons and in the fulfillment of an intense and creative life, Hélène and Pierre-Marie, Jacques and Colette, Ève and Éloi pursue, each in their own way, the same goal: to invent their lives.
